MAYDAY, MAYDAY WE'VE LOST A TOOTH!

O.k. have you ever pondered what would happen when your child lost their 1st tooth? I mean for us parents with these special kidos... Did you ever have worries about not knowing when? Abby can't communicate, I don't know if a tooth is loose... she has been drooling excessively and crying a lot, but I looked and saw that a molar was coming in so figured it was that. I never in a million years figured it was a loose tooth... how would I know to check?

This morning the nurse and I were looking at her thumb which is pruned white with a few spots that show excessive rubbing from other teeth, ouch.... and then to my surprise I saw a black spot, took a double look and there was NO tooth!

Oh I panicked, where was it? Is she grumpy because she swallowed it? Was it in her bed, oh we have to find it I don't want her to roll over and it end up in her mouth somehow! Is it in her stroller... where is this missing tooth? I had to find it!!!! There was no blood we had no idea!

THERE IT IS..... this tiny perfect little white pearl on the seat of her stroller! PHEW..... Oh what a relief!

Because of her cleft repair, her teeth are not perfectly spaced apart.. I love my little piranha's mouth! They make her her, and are a huge part of her character that I just LOVE! But, because they are so squished together its hard to tell if one is loose!

Anyhoo... this was better than any caffeine jolt I've ever had!

  3. Yea for Abby, meeting another milestone. You broght up issues I haven't thought about, like swallowing a tooth. I guess I just thought they would stay in there forever. Praying that your schooling is going well. Can't even imagine how you tackled anything else. You are my here!

  4. We've been talking about this a lot lately! My Peanut is 6, so it's time for teeth to start falling out. She never lets anywhere in her mouth EVER, so I wouldn't know if a tooth were loose or not. The dentist said that if we notice one is loose, we either pull it or bring it in for him to pull. I always worry that she will aspirate it! I am so glad you found Abby's tooth. We need to see pictures of her with her first lost tooth!
